The Sinja Valley is located in the Jumla district. The Hima River runs through Sinja Valley. Sinja is regarded as the origin-place of Nepali language. The developed form of the contemporary first Nepali language has been found on the copper inscription, gold inscription and stone inscription issued from Sinja.The ancient Devanagari script of 13th century AD had been found in Sinja Valley. Sinja Valley was the capital of the Khas Mallas. It is found in different historical written documents that Nepali language originated from Sinja from 12th century to 14th century AD.
